Split RNA switch system boosts precision of cell-specific gene expression control

Professor Hirohide Saito (Department of Life Science Frontiers at CiRA / The University of Tokyo) and Assistant Professor Hirohisa Ohno (Department of Life Science Frontiers at CiRA) recently led a team effort to develop a novel RNA-based system called the split RNA switch, integrating translational and post-translational control to achieve highly specific gene expression in targeted cell types. Their study is published in Nature Communications.
